Guerlain ‘Noir G’ Mascara

I love the concept of Guerlain’s “Noir G” mascara. It’s the first refillable mascara with an integrated mirror. A mascara and mirror seems simple enough, right? I’m more intrigued by the design of this small, sleek contraption that I read consists of 17 parts.
From Premium Beauty News:
“This was a real technical challenge,” admits Thomas Diezinger, CEO of Jackel France, “because the design constraints were not that simple to overcome.” Seventeen parts to put together, the desire to achieve a sophisticated and stylish product with high quality parts, a tight closure, a comfortable gesture with the famous “click” at the close, a very sophisticated mechanism enabling a smooth opening of the part supporting the mirror.”
And just how does it work?
Pull on the case and with a click, the hidden mirror is revealed. A simple twist and the brush appears. Easy to use, you just need to trust your intuition. By simply pulling on the hood the refill appears. You then need to trigger a click on the top of the hood to release it.
What do you think? Too many steps to just apply some mascara? Noir G is available at Saks Fifth Avenue, Neiman Marcus, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, and Bergdorf Goodman. It retails for $49, refills for $26. No doubt this is some serious luxury mascara.
Wishlist: Giuseppe Zanotti Colorblock Wedge
February 22nd, 2012 § 2 Comments
This Giuseppe Zanotti patent leather sandal with wedge heel is on my wishlist not because I wish I could afford this shoe; more so I wish I could WEAR this shoe! I loved wearing heels in my former life (college student/young professional/loving my 20s). I wouldn’t have thought twice about rocking this 5 1/4″ heel. Ha! Not anymore. Nowadays, I prefer to stay closer to the ground (so I can hang with my little ones) AND for fear I’m going to fall and break something. So I’ll just admire and swoon from afar.
Check them out at ShoeBox New York.

Spring 2012 Makeup Trends

What’s in store for makeup this spring? Here’s a sneak peak from the experts at ARTISTRY on what to expect.
From
On the runways, we saw a mix of old and new. Featured colours seemed pulled from long ago, but were paired with glittery eye accents, timeless natural tones, and dark shadows and liners done in fresh new ways. Spring will bring bright, vibrant colours, but of course toned down from the neon shades we saw last summer. The overall message was clear: pair vintage with modern to make a statement that is as unique as you are.

Worked with a great team recently on a beauty shoot and can’t wait to see how all of the images turned out. We did a clean, natural beauty look and then ramped it up with teased hair, smokey eyes, nude and red lips. Here’s the natural look for now. Will post the other looks after all of the post production is done.
